Delightful Yam Cake

I owe my cousin a yam cake since last year. Finally, found time to bake her one today.

been looking around for jelly moulds. where do you get your small jelly moulds in various flower shapes? also, can the jap jelly be found at ntuc or must be run to ph?

Thanks for your comments. The cake is simple to do. Just use any spongecake recipe for the cake. For the yam part, what I did was steam the yam, mashed it and add it into the whipped up cream. You can add a little yam flavouring to the cream. Other than that, no need to add anything else.

I'm a new visitor to your blog, but already impressed by your cake icing skills. Do you learn it from baking schools?

Can such skills can be picked up on one's own, without formal training? Any tips for writing without the words going wavy and cream squirting out in big dolops?
