I have had a good and enjoyable afternoon making this 2-tier fondant covered cake with Cuen. This is the first ever fondant covered and decorated 2-tier cake for both of us. I think we did a pretty good job considering this is our first time. Of course there are still room for improvement. The cake has a very spring time theme with lots of flowers, bee, ladybug, butterflies on it. To experiment how a sugarpaste fondant and MM fondant fair in this wet weather we covered the first layer with sugarpaste and the lower layer with MM fondant. In this kind of wet weather we have now in Singapore, MM fondant doesn't hold as well as sugarpaste.
We did some faces cupcakes and some doggie and bear bear too.

I tried the choc chip muffin very nice but when i kept for the next day its turn a bit dry. Can i add in more milk or butter?
Hi Shirley, I used the Wilton paste bought from PH.
Add more milk to your muffin and if leaving it in the fridge remember to store it in airtight containers. If not just leave it in a box outside the fridge is fine too.

Both the sugarpaste and MM fondant are home-made.

Hi Twinkie, I guess the kids will eat the sugarpaste but not the adults as they are really sweet. MM fondant taste better so if eaten with a chocolate cake that is not too sweet, the taste is still ok.
No need to do this in a aircon room. If weather is hot, it is better for fondant deco. Wet weather makes the fondant 'sweat'.

I think sugar paste will look nicer but MM fondant will taste better. Depends on what is your priority. I prefer to use chocolate ganache so that it won't melt easily. If not you can also just apply a thin layer of jam or gel to make sure your fondant can stick to the cupcake. In this way, no worries about melting issue. Can easily be displayed for quite a few hours.

Yes Yer, I used small dowel to support the top tier.
