Apple Strudel

This is the first time I use filo pastry to make apple strudel. I first learned how to use the filo pastry from Chef Yong and it was good. Since then I have loved his recipe. However, the recipe from Chef Yong uses banana, strawberries, etc so I thought why not try apple filling and custard cream. In fact I have seen it in Cherry's blog that uses filo pastry too. The custard cream was a recipe I forgot where I got from. Anyway it was easy and uses only 3 eggyolks.

Was supposed to keep two of them for tomorrow's gathering at home but hubby and sons ate up half of the one roll already. I refused to assemble the second roll in case I am left with nothing for tomorrow.

Hi Choo, you fast hand fast leg huh! Good right.

Hi Cindy, you can find it in the same section as where they sell ready-made puff pastry. The brand is Pampas and it says Filo Pastry. It's a longish box whereas the puff pastry is the shorter smaller box. I hope you know what I am saying.

lee lee, I also made this.yesterday. but I use a brand calle Apollo filo from Cold Storage. I think its better coz its more crispy, firm. and after 1 day in the fridge, today I take out and eat..still very crispy.

Hi Gina, thanks for telling me abt the other brand. If I am around CS, I will look out for it. Actually, the Pampas one that I used also stays very crispy the next day from the fridge.

Hi Michelle, I have to go look for the recipe because I mixed and matched my recipe so I have forgotten what I really did. Hope you can give me some time to gather the information.
