Chap Go Mei

Chap Go Mei literally means the 15th night. This is the 15th day of the Lunar New Year which is also the last day of the Chinese New Year.

As usual, I have dinner with my in-laws at my place. Since Chap Go Mei falls on a Sunday this year and I don't have much time to cook since by the time I get back from Church it will be late already. So my mother-in-law suggested having steamboat to make it easy for me. Just sharing with you how my steamboat dinner looks and what I have prepared for them tonight.

Hi Wu Ta Niang, I bought it from Tuperware.

For the steamboat dip, what I did was to pour 2 bottles of Dancing Chef brand sukiyaki suace into a pot, cook it over slow fire and add in more grinded chilli padi (I like it spicy)and toasted white sesame. Turn off fire when mixture boils. Before serving, add more toasted sesame seed and chopped coriander leaves. HTH
