Even though my birthday was over, I still had to have dinner with my family. I invited my parents, my sis and my youngest aunty and her family to my place for dinner. As usual, I am the chef and cooked up a feast for them.
Since everyone loves calamari, I cooked it again. I also tried out a recipe of Jin Du Porkribs from a cookbook. The sauce is very nice. It was so nice that I had to cut up another cucumber and tomatoes so that my family can eat it dip in the sauce. The dish that stole the show would be the black bean/soya bean paste clams. This was so good that my aunty's daughter went for another bowl of rice so that she can have more of the clams. LOL
I also cooked a big plate of sambal kangkong using the homemade sambal my dad taught me through his 'agaration' (means no actual measurement, everything by estimation) recipe. I wanted my dad to try the kangkong and give me feedback on my chilli. Thank God, he passed me on that dish. Phew!
Though here are not all the pictures of the dishes that I have cooked, still, enjoy seeing whatever I have here ok.

Hi Lee Lee,
Happy belated birthday to you!!!Nice to celebrate it, especially with family members!U r such a good cook and always cook up a storm.Been following your blog for quite a while now. BTW, what flour did you use for the calamari, is it crispy? Every time I do this, it is soggy??? thks for your advice!! kind rgds, k
I used this flour called crispy flour (the brand is Dragon Boat).
I got it from Kwong Cheong Thye, No 61-63 Lorong 27 Geylang, Off Sims Ave. Tel 67480128.
It stays crispy even after it has cooled down.
Happy belated bday, Lee Lee!

Happy Belated Birthday leelee =) yummylicious food =)
Thanks everyone.
k, when you use the crispy flour, try to fry a few piece of sotong first to test out the constitency of the batter. If you do not like the texture, add more flour or more water to get to the right texture that you like.
Ok Lee Lee, thks lots! Got some sotong at home so gonna try this, this weekend for the family. If it works, this gonna be a regular dish on the table, hahaha!!
kind rgds, k
