Work Completed

Actually I had wanted to make a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache to be covered with fondant for a colleague's wedding. In the end I was busy with work and didn't have time to make the fondant/mm fondant. So what I did was I did not cover the whole cake with fondant. I did a rug to put on top of the cake where the sofa, the groom and the bride will sit on. I had also used some flowers and butterflies to decorate the cake. In the end the cake turned out so plain and so different from what I have in mind initially. Well, I still hope the wedding couple will like it and I wish D and E a very blessed marriage and many many years of happiness together.

Oh, and I have also changed the groom figurine because the one I did earlier was getting more cracks than I have hoped for. Sharing with you the pictures of the before and after groom figurine on my cake.

The original groom that I was supposed to use.

In the end the cake turned out like this.

Thanks Shirley.

CH, the figurines are made from sugar paste. It won't melt but it keeps better in hot weather. If it rains like what we have these days, the figurines tends to 'sweat' and become soft and limpy. So I am hopping for better weather these few days.

Lee Lee, at times I've the same problem with figurines cracking... it's really frustrating and heartbreaking when it happens.
