Lychee Cream Puffs

Sharing with you my lychee cream puffs. I quite like the taste of the cream with a hint of nice fragrant lychee smell.

  1. Hi Lee Lee! Did you use a chocolate choux dough with polo topping? They look really yummy!

  2. Hi LeeLee
Just wondering how you achieve the effect of the lumpy puff? tia

  3. Hi Jam, yes this is a chocolate choux dough but the topping is actually a biscuit like mixture.

Cecily, the topping is actually made of flour, butter, sugar and cocoa powder. Mix together and roll into a 2cm diameter roll and freeze it. Then cut it into thin slice to be put on top of the choux pastry before baking.

  6. Hi sweet jasmine, I made the choux pastry and the topping and the cream all from scratch.

vb, you are right, this recipe many many steps, quite lay-chey but the end result is good. The recipe is all in Chinese and it is translated from Japanese so sometimes you find the ingredient is asked for but it never mention when or where to add that ingredient. Hahaha.

  8. Hi Esther,

I will have to do another translation on the recipe before I post it up as the original recipe is in Japanese and then it was translated to Mandarin.

  12. Hi Hazy, I think it may be slightly different although the recipe from the book is also from some Japanese chef. The methods in your search looks much easier than the book. It is because of the many steps and very detailed explanation in Mandarin that I have difficulties translating.
